Dr. Mahantesh R Charantimath

Dr. Mahantesh Charantimath is in the field of cardiology for the past 30 years. He obtained his MD degree (Internal Medicine) in 1994. In 1995, he has joined Dept. of Cardiology, KEM hospital, Bombay as research Fellow. In 1999 he completed DM degree. Dr. Mahantesh has worked as Assistant Professor in Cardiology at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, Bangalore till May 2005. He was professor of cardiology & Head at KIMS medical college.
He is honoured with Fellowship of prestigious American College of Cardiology & Fellowship of Society of Coronary Angiography & Interventions of America, Fellowship of EUROPIAN SOCIETY OF CARDIOLOGY.

Dr. Mahantesh is a Chief Interventional Cardiologist & Director of Cardiology TATHAGAT HEART CARE CENTRE & Hospital , Mallige premises Bangalore

Dr.Mahantesh was consultant interventional cardiologist to various leading corporate hospitals in Bangalore.

Over a period of 30 years he was trained extensively and gained profound experience in the field of both non-invasive and Invasive cardiology. He was involved in many clinical trials, presented many papers at state and national level conferences.

Dr. Mahantesh has performed thousands of coronary angiographies, mitral balloon valvuloplasties, diagnostic catheterization studies for various congenital and valvular heart diseases, PTCA and stenting,

He is proficient and expertised in performing Renal, Carotid and other peripheral angioplasties, ASD device closure, Pacemaker Implantation, pulmonary and aortic valvuloplasties, percutaneous transluminal septal myocardial ablation (PTSMA) ,

Dr. Mahantesh has actively organized more than 1500 Free Heart & Health check up camps and CME at various remote taluka, district places, Various Medical Colleges and hospitals in Karnataka through Tathagat Medical Trust which he established in 2001. He has conducted many discussions, public guest lecturers, radio & TV programs on heart disease, risk factors & prevention to create awareness among public and society. He has more insight into the magnitude of cardiovascular burden faced by common man and society in Karnataka. He travelled width & breadth of Karnataka.

Dr.Mahantesh is founder of Cardiology departments in various medical colleges
He has contributed to immensely to development of cardiology, health awareness programme , preventive cardiology in Karnataka and India.
Dr..Mahantesh is actively involved in activities of Cardiological society of India Bangalore . He has worked in various capacities as President, Hon. Secretary, , Vice President, treasurer, executive committee member.
